About the Euro-Asia Economic Forum
Euro-Asia Economic Forum is an international forum approved by the State Council and managed by the Office of the Central Leading Group for Foreign Affairs as a whole, with countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization as the mainstay and catering to the vast Eurasian region. Guided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Forum is regularly hosted by Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government, relevant state ministries and commissions, international organizations and other member units of the Forum Organizing Committee, and undertaken by Xi’an Municipal People’s Government. Since its establishment in 2005, the forum has been held every two years and witnessed 8 successful sessions. In 2007, the mode of “Forum & Expo” was established, and since then we have continued to deepen their integration and pragmatic development. In 2020, General Secretary Xi Jinping gave an important directive on “Getting Euro-Asia Economic Forum run well” in his important address during his visit to Shaanxi, which granted the forum a new historical mission. It is of great significance to serving the national diplomacy, promoting regional economic development, boosting Shaanxi to deep integrate into the grand layout of “Belt & Road”, building a leading area in inland China for reform and opening up and enhancing Xi’an’s internationalization level.
Setting of the Expo
Within the frame of Euro-Asia Economic Forum, “2021 Euro-Asia Economic Forum Economic and Trade Cooperation Expo and China (Shaanxi) Import and Export Commodities Exhibition” will be held to implement the spirit of the General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech on the visit to Shaanxi Province, avail Shaanxi to “build an international trade channel in inland China with high efficiency, low cost and excellent service to lead the reform and opening up cause there”, promote a “dual circulation” development pattern at home and abroad, carry on the spillover achievements of China International Import Expo, and contribute to the new pattern of China Western Development.

2021 Euro-Asia Economic Forum Economic and Trade Cooperation Expo and China (Shaanxi) Import and Export Commodities Exhibition will improve the Euro-Asia Economic Forum by mutual promotion of exhibition and expo, service for the influence of “Belt & Road” economic and trade cooperation and exchange, drives Shaanxi to become a corridor, a hub of trade and logistics, and an important industrial and cultural exchange base for Central, West and South Asian countries, and accelerate the formation of a “dual circulation” development pattern in which domestic economic cycle plays a leading role while international economic cycle remains its extension and supplement, as well as east and west, ocean and land interact and interconnect to form a whole.
