Dross Skim Pan — Single Chamber Dimensions and Model RangeSMI single chamber dross skim pans are designed for efficient dross collection and skimming from molten aluminium surfaces in primary and secondary casthouse operations. Nine standard configurations cover a capacity range from 0.21 m³ to 0.90 m³. All models are manufactured from SMI’s proprietary material formulation — optimised for rapid cooling rate and thermal shock resistance in continuous casthouse service. Custom dimensions and capacities are available to customer drawing or specification.

The single chamber dross skim pan provides a single open-top collection volume for dross skimmed from the molten aluminium surface during melting and refining. The structural base incorporates ventilation geometry — supporting the pan during handling and transfer while allowing air circulation to assist cooling after dross collection. The single chamber configuration is the standard choice for most casthouse skimming operations where dross fraction separation is not required.
