Anode Steel Yoke


Definition:Anode Steel Yoke for aluminum industry
Generally, the method to get primary aluminum is electrolysis of aluminum oxide. The anode steel yoke is a necessary component of the electrolysis device. Usually the anode yoke consists of beam and pawl. The anode yoke is fixed with anode block and the main function is conducting between the block and the solution of aluminum oxide. Through the huge current, the anode block will turn into carbon dioxide and the solution will turn into pure aluminum. The process will generate high temperate around 950℃ ~ 970℃.

Features:
Because the electrolysis process is in high temperate and the anode block scrap in need of remove from the anode, the anode yokes suffer the continuous loss. The anode yokes are consumable.

Definición:
Generalmente, el método para obtener aluminio primario es la electrólisis del óxido de aluminio. El yugo del ánodo es un componente necesario del dispositivo de electrólisis. El yugo del ánodo se fija con un bloque de ánodo y la función principal es conducir entre el bloque y la solución de óxido de aluminio. Technical Specifications of Anode Yoke Bracket

The Technical Specifications of Anode Yoke Bracket:
The cast Anode yoke is made from cast steel alloy, normalized and in accord with BS3100 Grade A1. The maximum value for equivalent carbon (CEV), based on the mill test, shall be 0.35 CEV and shall be calculated using the following formula:
CEV =C+ Mn/6 + (Cr+Mo+V) /5 + (Ni+Cu) /15

Machined Surface Finish
The cast surface of the yoke to be in contact with the transition joint shall be machined (as per Anode yoke drawing). The casting shall be stress free prior to machining. The Manufacturer shall ensure the geometry with respect to the stubs (straightness and perpendicular) meet the requirements detailed on the drawings. The remaining surfaces shall be left in a smooth “As-Cast” condition typically Ra 12.5 to Ra 25. Grooves on stubs shall be cut or ground, as per Anode yoke drawing.
